Details

The Town of Mykonos is one of the most famous and beautiful among Cycladic capitals in the Aegean Sea. The Town or Chora, as locals refer it, is a stunningly picturesque Cycladic town with plenty of tiny alleys and whitewashed steps, houses and churches, gathered around its harbour in the middle of a wide bay.

Small houses built close to each other, to be protected from the winds, colourful windows and doors create a unique atmosphere where endless strolls in them will make you feel wonderful.

The Town of Mykonos is also one of the most cosmopolitan towns of the Aegean islands.

The streets are full with little shops, boutiques, art galleries, cafes, stylish bars and restaurants. Keep in mind that Mykonos Town is just a 10 minute drive from the Mykonos Kosmoplaz Beach Hotel & Resort.

Enjoy the tastes of the Greek and Mediterranean cuisine

The gastronomic scene of Mykonos is utterly intriguing. Fancy restaurants are competing with traditional taverns serving dishes inspired by the local, Greek and Mediterranean cuisines across the island. The island of Mykonos offers a large number of restaurants and dining proposals.

LOCAL PRODUCTS
Don’t miss the opportunity to treat yourself to some local Aegean specialties! The spicy flavoured ‘kopanisti’, a soft cheese seasoned with pepper, is the island’s gastronomic trademark. Try it as a topping on a round rusk spread with grated tomato, a favourite local mezes (appetiser).

Meat lovers can sample “louza” (cooked pork filet with spices) and taste local sausages sprinkled with pepper and local oregano which has been caressed by the sun and dried in the north wind. To finish off your meal, you can sample two exceptionally good local pastries, “amigdalota” (small round cakes with ground almond, rosewater and caster sugar) and honey pie.

WINE TASTING
The month of September is the ideal period to visit this enchanting island of the Cyclades and experience the century old tradition of wine harvesting. During this period, the farmers start the grape harvest in order to proceed to the wine making process.

The climate along with the level of expertise of the producer, play a crucial role in the wine making process. Over the last years, some really good efforts had been made towards the revival of Mykonos vineyards and the production of tasty and unique wines.

The famous nightlife scene

Welcome to the famous nightlife scene of Mykonos

Mykonos nightlife has something for everyone. There are literally hundreds of cafés, bars and clubs scattered throughout the island.

If you want stimulating Mykonos nightlife venues, we recommend going to Mykonos Town and Super Paradise Beach, where fun and parties never end.

Both Mykonos Town and Super Paradise Beach have a number of gay bars, as Mykonos is a favourite gay-friendly destination.

The visitors can find quieter bars in other seaside villages of Mykonos, including Agios Stefanos, Agios Ioannis, Platis Gialos, Ornos, etc. However, Mykonos is not all about parties in nightclubs and shopping.
